There is an urgency around health equity in medicine today. To date, there has not been a comprehensive assessment of the efforts taken by organized medicine to advance health equity. In 2023, the American Medical Association (AMA) conducted its inaugural Health Equity In Organized Medicine (HEIOM) survey. The HEIOM survey provides insight into actions organized medicine is taking to advance health equity. The AMA surveyed the AMA Federation of Medicine, comprised primarily of specialty societies and state/territorial medical associations. This presentation describes the initial findings including successes and challenges experienced by organizations.

By attending this program, you will

  • Understand the landscape of health equity efforts in organized medicine
  • Be able to  describe key results of the 2023 Health Equity in Organized Medicine Survey
  • Obtain info to describe the successes and challenges experienced by organized medicine to advance health equity

We hope you will join us for this informative program. It will a great way to obtain current info from this organized survey and compare it to your efforts in your organization.
