The Health Resources and Services Administration Aug. 12 announced a modernized framework for addressing national newborn screening topics, which includes evaluating conditions for inclusion in the Recommended Uniform Screening Panel. HRSA also said it will provide supplemental funding to the Association of Public Health Laboratories through the National Center for Newborn Screening Systems Excellence for the establishment of a new workgroup to address emerging issues affecting newborn screening.
